Digital multimeters handle demanding measurements

Tektronix DMM4000 digital multimeters
Available from TTi, the Tektronix DMM4000 range of digital multimeters combine high precision with a range of advanced features to handle the most demanding measurements.
With 6.5-digit resolution, the DMM4050 and DMM4040 multimeters will measure volts, ohms and amperes with a basic DC voltage accuracy within 0.0024 per cent.
Also included are integrated frequency, period, capacitance and temperature measurements.
The instruments make it possible to monitor and record measurements over time or environmental ranges, and view statistical values to see how a circuit's performance is changing.
Dedicated front-panel buttons provide fast access to frequently used functions and parameters, reducing setup time.
The dual display of the multimeters makes it possible to measure two different parameters of the same signal from one test connection.
To reveal signal-quality issues such as drift, intermittent transients and stability, the measured data can be read as a real-time trend plot or a histogram with the graphical display mode.
Alternatively, measurement statistics can be used to track how signal parameters are changing over time.
With a feature known as Trendplot, the trend of a measured value can be graphically plotted over a range of time periods.
For graphic observation of the average and standard deviation of a set of measurements, the histogram function can be used to see the distribution of measurement results.
Integrated statistical processing can calculate the average and standard deviation of a measurement, as well as tracking the minimum and maximum measured values, with the push of a button.
A USB port on the front panel makes it easy to store measurement data and instrument setups to a memory stick.
The instruments can also be connected to a PC with the LAN, RS-232 or GPIB interfaces on the back panel.
