IR calibrators suit use by nonexperts

Fluke Precision Measurement

4180 infra-red calibrators

The 4180 series puts fast, portable and high-quality calibration within the reach of first time users, as well as experienced metrologists.

Fluke - Hart Scientific has introduced the 4180 series of precision infra-red calibrators.

The two new models, 4180 and 4181, use the same size of targets used by thermometer manufacturers and are designed to help nonexperts productively perform high-quality infra-red thermometer calibrations.

The Fluke 4180 has a temperature range of -15 to +120C, with radiometric (noncontact infra-red) display accuracy to +/-0.25C, while the Fluke 4181 measures from 35 to 500C, with radiometric display accuracy to +/-0.3C.

The 4180 series puts fast, portable and high-quality calibration within the reach of first time users, as well as experienced metrologists.

The calibrators address quality issues such as emissivity and size of source effect which are commonly ignored in other calibrators.

Features such as target stability, target uniformity, a 150mm target diameter, traceable radiometric calibration and compensation for the emissivity settings of the radiation thermometer being tested, overcome some of the other most common limitations.

Sample calibration procedures for Fluke thermometers are built into the instrument to get users up and running with a minimum of training.
