Clare Instruments is offering the Powersmart automation and leakage-test module, providing full testing to EN 60990 and displaying run-test voltage and current during functional tests.
The power for the functional test can be from the internal supply or the external connected electrical-safety tester.
The module has been designed to work with standard electrical-safety testers such as the Clare Elite, with the addition of a safety test enclosure if required.
Two versions are available as standard items: one for 16A and another for 50A applications.
Single and three-phase options can also be chosen.
Powersmart, when combined with the Elite Comprehensive Tester and a Test Enclosure System, reduces the risk of electric shock during high-voltage automated production-line testing and can be operated easily and safely.
Automatic electro-mechanical test probes and actuators which connect electrical test points to the product can be controlled directly from the module without the need for additional hardware.
The master-control unit, generally via the Clare Elite, can be programmed within a software-based Windows application.
