Zigbee-enabled products website
IDC has launched a website that features the company's range of Zigbee-enabled products.
The site contains all the latest specification data, downloadable PDF datasheets and background information on Zigbee products and applications.
IDC's Zigbee-enabled wireless mobile devices offer a low-cost, low-power, wireless networking solution, based upon the IEEE 802.15.4 -2006 standard for personal area networks (WPAN).
The technology is simpler to implement and lower cost than other WPANs.
Zigbee is also far less power hungry than Bluetooth and other alternatives, offering millions of operations from a tiny Lion battery, and giving devices years of operation on one charge.
As the range is growing so quickly, IDC's Zigbee products have been consolidated and launched online.
The range offers manufacturers, system integrators and end users a single source supply for ready-made hardware and software products utilising Zigbee wireless mesh networking.
IDC's Zigbee product range includes Ethernet and serial gateways, control modules with discrete input/output connectivity and battery powered handheld units; including: an OEM development module, an interactive key fob, handheld keypad, touch screen, serial gateway, Ethernet gateway and a microcontroller.
The hardware features TI's CC2430/1 system-on-chip and the TI-Zigbee stack, which is Zigbee2006-certified.
The ensures that products developed on this platform will be fully interoperable with other platforms that have been ZigBee2006 certified.
The hardware is supported by software products for over-the-air programming, location tracking, event recording, OPC server and soon-to-be introduced ZB Server which offers the integration of independent multiple 802.15.4 networks.
