Advantest announces spectrum analyser options

Rohde and Schwarz

U3700 spectrum analyzer serie

The two-channel input, time-based analysis and 6GHz tracking generator options for the U3700 spectrum analyser series from Advantest are now available from Rohde and Schwarz.

All three options facilitate signal evaluation on production lines for wireless communications equipment and modules.

The options can also be used for wireless network site surveys and other field uses.

The two-channel input option adds two independently operating RF signal ports to the U3700, meaning that the operating parameters of different communications system standards can be measured in parallel, as can the output signals of two antennas.

Moreover, this option enables two signals to be monitored in tandem with only one system, which is not possible with one-channel models and previously required a complex system constructed of two spectrum analysers.

The frequency range is from 9kHz to 3GHz and the crosstalk between input channels is <-90dBc.

The time-based analysis option can be used in assessing the performance of electronic devices that use digital modulation.

This includes game consoles with wireless connectivity and in-car electronics and their components.

By performing signal frequency analysis and time-based signal analysis, the process of sorting good products from bad is greatly facilitated.

Previously, time-based analysis of variations in frequency, power and phase required the spectrum analyser to be used in conjunction with an oscilloscope, as well as complex computations.

This option now enables analysis in the frequency range up to 43GHz using just one spectrum analyser.

The frequency bandwidth of ETC and wireless Lan in accordance with the IEEE802.11 standards exceeds 5GHz.

With the 6GHz tracking generator option, users can now test and evaluate such wireless communications systems above 5GHz.

A VSWR bridge up to 6GHz with SMA connectors is available to perform matching measurements.
