Firetrap remote-activation system
RF Solutions has introduced an RF remote activation system, allowing up to four 5A-rated relays to be controlled from a range of 200m.
The radio-receiver/relay-controller is a rugged IP68-rated unit optimised for year-round use with trap-release systems such as clay pigeon launchers, and has settings for momentary, latched and timed relay release.
The Firetrap remote-control trap-release system uses narrowband RF technology, which ensures high reliability by rejecting interference from other radio sources such as mobile phone masts.
Operating in the unlicensed 433MHz frequency band and conforming to European low-power radio specifications, the system can be used in any area with no approval required.
A selection of controllers is available, offering a choice of one, two, four, eight or 16 switches to activate individual relays at the receiver.
A Learn switch helps users pair each button with the desired relay in the receiving unit.
Each transmitter is a hand-held unit housed in an IP40-rated enclosure and powered from a cell battery supplied.
The receiver can be specified with one, two or four relays.
Internal jumper links are used to select momentary, latched or timed relay operation.
The supply voltage range of 12V-30V allows use with a variety of power sources such as a car battery.
Integral mounting brackets allow attachment to a wall or other surface.
The unit withstands temperatures from - 10C to 70C, and operates from 0C to 55C, allowing permanent outdoor deployment.
The unit's resin-dipped circuit boards provide additional resistance to water ingress, over and above the high rating of the IP68-rated enclosure, delivering a rugged radio controller capable of fulfilling a variety of applications in harsh environments.
