The five-channel TDL2A effectively replaces a serial cable interface in a multitude of applications where trailing cables are impractical or undesirable, delivering a foolproof, low power, 100m datalink.
Unlike other solutions on the market which require the user to possess a considerable amount of radio expertise to successfully install, the TDL2A makes no such demands.
Combining a sophisticated 433MHz band five-channel transceiver with a dedicated datacommunications processor, the module deals with any 9600baud asynchronous data stream issues without requiring any user intervention or interface, and provides all necessary buffering, packetisation, framing, coding, decoding and reconstitution.
The TDL2A does not require any additional software, and even eliminates the need for a transit-enable pin as it constantly monitors the channel for valid data.
All the user has to do is add a 5V power supply and aerial.
Unlicensed operation is permitted throughout Europe under EN300-220.
For multiple radio systems (polled networks) the TDL2A can be set to one of eight unique addresses.
More, as the TDL2A modules operate on one of five nonoverlapping preset frequencies in the 433MHz band, several modules can be in use simultaneously in the same area without interference.
Housed in an industry-standard 33 x 25 x 7mm BiM2 footprint case, the TDL2A has a transmit power of just 10mW.
Units feature excellent RF specifications, including a receiver blocking performance of 84dB.
Receiver sensitivity is -107dBm (1% BER), adjacent channel rejection is 65dB at +/-320kHz and spurious emission is less than 65dBm.
Applications are numerous and varied, but include machine to machine interfaces, industrial control and telemetry, handheld portable terminals, medical equipment and environmental monitoring and control systems.
