Cambridge Consultants offers micro 2G and 3G small-cell platform for mobile communications
Cambridge Consultants
Sidewinder
Sidewinder, which Cambridge Consultants claims is the smallest commercially available 2G and 3G small-cell platform available, is designed for integration into mobile phones, as well as into base station or mobile units for police, emergency services and other professional radio users.
Cambridge Consultants claims Sidewinder is built for the changing broadband mobile market, to which it offers a low-cost device intended to help developers create products that can be adapted as new wireless standards and technologies emerge.
Using a flexible radio device from Lime Microsystems and Picochip’s PC312 Femtocell Baseband SoC, Sidewinder offers low a DSP, ARM application processor and low power consumption that make it suitable for some battery-powered applications.
It can be provided either as hardware supplied directly by Cambridge Consultants or, alternatively, as a reference design that can be manufactured by licensees.
