ExpressBox41U and ExpressBox7
PCI Express to PCI Express expansion rackmount systems provide a simple way of expanding the available PCI Express (PCIe) slots of computers, workstations and servers.
Amplicon has released the ExpressBox41U and ExpressBox7 external PCI Express expansion rackmount systems from Magma.
These systems provide easy and cost-effective solutions for attaching up to seven PCI Express cards to a computer or server through a single x8 or x16 PCI Express slot.
PCI Express to PCI Express expansion rackmount systems provide a simple way of expanding the available PCI Express (PCIe) slots of computers, workstations and servers.
Amplicon's two new PCIe expansion rackmount systems are the Magma ExpressBox41U and ExpressBox7.
The Magma ExpressBox41U (EB4-1U) 1U PCIe expansion rackmount chassis, comes as standard with four PCIe x16 hot-pluggable slots, a 250W redundant power supply unit and a PCI x8 host card and 1m connection cable.
In addition, the ExpressBox41U has built-in rackmount slide rails.
The Magma ExpressBox7 (EB7) 4U PCIe expansion rackmount chassis, comes with seven PCIe x16 hot-pluggable slots and a 400W power supply unit as standard.
It also has a PCIe x8 host card and 1m connection cable.
The ExpressBox7 has the option for rackmount slide rails.
Both of the systems consists of a PCIe x8 host card, a cable and a chassis with PCIe x16 expansion slots and a built-in power supply unit.
They are automatically configured by the system BIOS making all of the slots appear transparent to the host computer.
These systems allow for significant cost savings since they eliminate the need to invest in new computer hardware in order to accommodate the need for extra PCIe slots.
