BL631-D ATX motherboard
DFI has announced an ATX motherboard, the BL631-D, which utilises the Intel Q35 Express chipset and ICH9 I/O controller hub.
The LGA 775 socket accepts lower-cost desktop processors, including Intel Core 2 Duo processors, Intel Core 2 Quad processors and 45nm technology processors.
It also supports Intel Enhanced Memory 64 Technology (EMT64T) and Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology (EIST), required by high-performance and low-power applications.
The Intel Q35 Express chipset on this ATX motherboard incorporates an updated Graphics Memory Controller Hub (GMCH), providing higher performance at lower power.
With a 130W thermal design power (TDP), the Q35 Express chipset provides a 50 per cent power savings over the Intel Q965 Express chipset.
Using four 240-pin DIMM sockets, the BL631-D industrial motherboard supports up to 8GB of 667MHz or 800MHz DDR2 dual-channel memory.
The onboard graphic features of this model include the integrated Intel GMA3100 graphics engine with up to 384MB of memory.
Dual display is supported using the integrated VGA analogue port and DVI digital display port.
Both display ports provide up to 2,048 x 1,536 at 75Hz resolution, supporting applications such as medical imaging, security and surveillance, and digital signage.
High-definition 7.1 channel audio is supported using a Realtek ALC885 24-bit Codec with high-performance 192KHz DACs.
The BL631-D contains two Realtek RTL8111B PCI Express Gigabit controllers and four SATA (Serial ATA) interfaces with transfer speeds up to 3Gb/s.
The incorporation of Intel Quiet System technology regulates system and processor fan speeds for increased noise reduction, while Intel Virtualisation Technology provides Directed I/O (Intel VT-d) and improved I/O virtualisation system reliability and security.
This system board allows connecting a display device to either the on-board DVI port at the rear panel or to the PCI Express x16 card.
Using jumpers, it is able to switch between PCI Express x16 and on-board DVI.
This industrial ATX motherboard features three PCI slots to support legacy PCI cards functions, two PCI Express x1 slots for networking cards, RAID controllers, digital surveillance capture cards and one PCI Express x16 slot for high-performance graphics cards.
Additional interfaces include 12 USB 2.0 ports, two Serial COM ports, UDMA 100 IDE interface, floppy drive interface and eight-line GPIO.
This ATX motherboard has guaranteed availability for seven years.
