WiRanger wireless USB2.0 extender
The WiRanger is ideal for installations where point of sale equipment is required temporarily or for extending USB and mouse connections to electronic white-boards.
Amplicon has added a new wireless solution to its range of USB extenders.
Capable of transparently transmitting data wirelessly up to 30m, the WiRanger is the world's first wireless USB2.0 extender.
The WiRanger is ideal for installations where point of sale equipment is required temporarily or for extending USB and mouse connections to electronic white-boards and other interactive display equipment.
A wireless capability can also be useful in listed buildings where new cables cannot be installed legally.
The WiRanger units are shipped in pairs and use the 802.11g wireless standard for communication.
The pre-paired units provide a working solution out of the box, simply plug in the power supplies and a connection is made.
The units can use the 802.11g channels 1, 6 or 11 giving ample choice to avoid interference from other devices.
David Evans, Data Communications Product Manager at Amplicon, commented "Sales growth of USB extenders at Amplicon has been very impressive over the past 3 years".
"This growth bears testimony to the reliability and transparency of operation of the ExtremeUSB protocol on which all of the extenders are based".
"The WiRanger is a great addition to the USB extender line that will support our continued growth in this area".
