The new Rover 200 Series of USB isolator and extender pairs from Amplicon provides USB isolation and extends USB connections up to 40m in length.
Employing patented 'ExtremeUSB' technology, it offers unrivalled reliability and compatibility, compared with other USB extenders.
Approved by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), the series comprises a pair of USB extenders with factory fitted fibre-optic cable between them, providing an out-of-the-box USB extender with complete optical isolation, end to end.
Options with 1, 20 and 40m of fibre are available as standard.
Optical isolation is often required when connecting medical instruments to PCs or for connecting USB devices in electrically noisy environments.
EMC test houses may also benefit from the Rover 200 when exercising the USB interface of equipment under test.
All versions ship with a power supply and can be used in conjunction with a USB hub to provide connections to multiple devices.
For instrument manufacturers looking to integrate such a system directly into their equipment, OEM versions are available.
David Evans, Data Communications Product Manager at Amplicon commented: "The success of Amplicon's first range of Cat 5e USB extenders has led to the rapid introduction of the Rover 200 series".
