Axiomtek has launched the SHB105 PICMG 1.3 single-board computer for security applications and network-intensive applications such as NVR, DVR and visual inspection instruments.
The SHB105 is based on the Intel 3450 chipset and designed to support the quad-core Intel Xeon 3400 series processors in the LGA1156 socket.
It comes with two unbuffered ECC DDR3 1,066/1,333MHz DIMM up to 8GB and six Sata ports with Raid 0, 1, 5, 10 function.
The SHB105 also features an integrated Trusted Platform Module 1.2 and Intel Active Management 6.0 technology for higher security and easier maintenance.
It uses Intel Virtualisation Technology, enabling the board to run different applications simultaneously using multiple virtual partitions.
Charles Zha, product manager of the embedded board and technology business unit at Axiomtek, said: 'The SHB105 is our new PICMG 1.3 single-board computer designed to support the server-grade LGA1156 Intel Xeon 3400 series processors with Intel 3450 chipset.
'The SHB105 provides server-class performance without sacrificing cost or reliability.
'Processors supported on the SHB105 also include the Intel Core i3/i5 and Pentium processors.
'The features of Intel Turbo Boost technology and Intel Hyper-Threading technology boost computing performance and increase 3D performance.
'This high-performance single-board computer also features an integrated Intel VT, Intel TPM 1.2 and Intel AMT 6.0 for higher security and easier maintenance.
'Moreover, this PICMG 1.3 slot CPU card meets all current requirements for the Windows 7,' Zha added.
Other I/O features include 12 USB ports, two COM ports (RS232 and RS232/422/485), dual Gigabit LANs, VGA, Displayport, HD audio, and PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports.
The SHB105 is said to provide reliable operation and non-stop capability with watchdog timer, as well as a Smart Fan function controlling the fan speed to keep temperature within a specified range.
The SBC platform is fully compatible with Axiomtek's PICMG 1.3 full-size passive backplanes; the company offers various industrial housing enclosures and has the capability to assist with customers' industrial integration needs.
