Octasic offers cards for video transcoding systems
Octasic
TXP1000 cards
Octasic's TXP1000 cards enable network service providers and internet equipment manufacturers to rapidly develop and deploy efficient, high-channel-density video transcoding systems.
The video transcoding cards are offered in a PCI Express (PCIe) form factor and are said to deliver the lowest power and highest channel density available on the market.
Real-time video transcoding supports the range of device types, video formats and dynamic bandwidth conditions on the open internet and mobile networks.
Octasic's solution includes the PCIe cards, a comprehensive audio/video media-processing and transcoding software stack and a host API.
A single TXP1000 card delivers 335 channels of video transcoding while offering power consumption within the power budget of a single PCI card.
John Fry, director of business development at Octasic, said: 'Octasic's TXP1000-based systems provide tangible benefits that can cut video transcoding systems capital costs in half, reduce the power consumption by a factor of eight and still deliver five times more channels per unit of rack space.
'Octasic's TXP1000 products will allow Aylus Networks to offload video and audio transcoding as we scale to the largest network deployments,' said William Kwan, vice president of product management at Aylus Networks.
Built using Octasic's Vocallo MGW product, TXP1000 cards instantly leverage a range of field-hardened communications technology.
The media-processing software stack provides: H.264, MPEG-4 and H.263 CODEC support from QCIF to HD resolution; dynamic bit-rate and quality adaptation; frame-rate and resolution scaling; advanced packet-loss concealment; a flexible video mixing engine for conferencing, graphics overlay and stream insertion for video monetisation.
Backed up by a portfolio of audio CODECs and voice-quality enhancement functions, TXP1000 cards provide a complete toolkit for building video-based communications systems.
