NA-813FL fan-less network appliance platform
Axiomtek has announced the NA-813FL, a small form factor, fan-less network appliance platform designed for VPN, content filtering, UTM, network security gateway and firewall applications.
The platform is built around an Intel 945GSE Express chipset and Intel Atom processor N270 with four Gigabit Ethernet ports for the SOHO market segment.
The cost-effective NA-913FL running on the Intel Atom processor N270 1.6GHz delivers low power and performance per watt.
The fan-less network appliance platform is integrated with four Gigabit Ethernet ports with one pair supporting LAN bypass function (optional) enhanced reliability required in field application.
Furthermore, the noiseless and compact unit comes in a small package with a height of 44mm and a weight of 2.5kg.
It can easily fit into any space-limited and harsh environments.
Philip Wei, product manager of the applied computing and network device business unit at Axiomtek, said: 'We develop the NA-813FL around the ultra-low voltage Intel Atom processor N270 to achieve a 100 per cent fan-less system design.
'With small form factor design, the NA-813FL offers four high-speed Gigabit network connections using Intel 82583V LAN chip.
'To prevent problems from sudden shutdown, the fan-less embedded platform supports optional LAN bypass function through WDT and GPIO pin definitions.
'It also features function of BIOS redirection to console port.
'Additionally, one PCI Express Mini card is available for Wi-Fi wireless card installation,' he added.
The NA-813FL has storage interfaces including one 2.5in Sata hard disk drive bay and a Compactflash card.
One DDR2 Sodimm slot supports 400/533 memory up to 2GB capacity.
Other I/O features include one DB9 console port, two USB 2.0 ports, and power connector.
It also supports mainstream Linux kernel 2.6 operating system.
