NA-510 network appliance

Axiomtek has introduced the NA-510, a network appliance built with the Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors and targeted at network security applications, VPN, UTM and firewall.

The NA-510 is offered in the LGA1156 package for small and medium businesses and SOHO.

The slim, 1U-height NA-510 utilises the Intel Q57 express chipset and can hold 8GB of non-ECC DDR3 memory.

It is integrated with eight Gigabit Ethernet ports with two pairs supporting LAN bypass function.

For extended networking applications, the unit comes with a MiniPCI or PCIe x8 slot.

The network appliance platform features two 2.5in Sata HDDs (or one 3.5in Sata HDD), one Compactflash slot, a console port and two USB ports, enhancing its capability to deal with various application needs.

Philip Wei, product manager of the applied computing and network device business unit at Axiomtek, said: 'Axiomtek's NA-510 is built around the Intel Q57 Express chipset and can support the new Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors.

'Moreover, the built-in Intel Active Management Technology (IAMT) 6.0 has answered customers' need for enhanced security and remote access for easier maintenance.

'It also supports BIOS redirection to improve IT efficiency and has two-group LAN bypass function to ensure stable network connection.

'With compact 1U-height form-factor design, the NA-510 offers eight high-speed Gigabit network connections using Intel 82574L and Intel 82578DM LAN chips.

'Additionally, one MiniPCI or PCIe x8 slot is available for third-party cards,' Wei added.

The NA-510 supports one 3.5in Sata HDD or two 2.5in Sata HDDs.

There is also a single Compactflash interface.

For easy access and maintain, the front panel has two high-speed USB 2.0 ports, a console RJ-45 port and front-facing LED indicators for power and HDD activities monitoring.

It also supports mainstream Linux kernel 2.4 and 2.6 operating system.
