E-Wib Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module
E-con Systems has launched E-Wib, a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module for use in industrial applications such as controllers, in-vehicle telematics, mobile devices and test and measurement equipment.
E-Wib is a normal 802.11b/g SDIO module and also features Bluetooth.
The module works through an SDIO interface and is bundled with the Alioth development platform.
Ashok Babu, president at E-con Systems, said: 'The E-Wib add-on module is a new offering for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth applications with standard driver support for customers who want an on-board solution with the provision for external antenna connection.
'This makes the E-Wib as easy as plugging a SDIO card,' Babu added.
This add-on module is a two-board solution for customers who can add the schematics of this daughter board to their carrier board, making the design resemble a single board.
The module supports Windows CE 6.0 R3 BSP.
The e-Wib module is available with Windows CE 6.0 R3 support starting from 1 September 2010.
