Aaeon offers energy-saving communication server with Intel Core processor

Aaeon has introduced the GCS-1500i, a so-called green communication server, to its Green Energy Systems series, which is Energy Star 5.0 certified throughout and claimed to save the consumer 20–30 per cent of energy use.
Designed to put less strain on the environment, the GCS-1500i has an aluminium chassis to provide cooling properties, a fanless design that saves energy and is delivered in so-called ‘eco-friendly packaging’.
It supports the Intel Core i5/i7 uPGA988 processor and Intel QM57 chipset, and includes one DDR3 800/1,066MHz and two SODIMM (up to 8GB) of system memory.
The green communication server features applications for electric power management, smart grid and building management.
