STX module uses Atom processor and Intel chipsets

Axiomtek

STX module

Axiomtek's STX88831 STX SoM integrates a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor N270 with Intel 945GSE and ICH7M chipsets.

The Mobile Intel 945GSE Express chipset integrates an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 that offers dual-view displays: VGA and LVDS/TTL interfaces.

The STX module supports up to 2GB of high-speed DDR2 system DRAM on a single SODIMM.

The low-power STX88831 with a suitable baseboard is optimised for embedded applications with various customised demands, which standard SBCs cannot satisfy.

'This Intel Atom processor N270 STX SoM has four PCI and one 16-bit ISA expansion buses on its STX-compliant interface to maximise the flexibility of system development,' said Joseph Chou, product manager of Embedded Board and Technology Business Unit.

'Multiple displays are supported by a LVDS/TTL interface and VGA port interface,' he added.

The STX88831 also features several I/O interfaces, including one SATA, four USB 2.0, one Fast Ethernet, VGA, 18/24-bit LVDS, 24-bit TTL LCD, AC-link audio, PS/2 keyboard/mouse port, two UART ports, FDD, LPT port and an optional IrDA interface.

The STX module supports Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Embedded Standard, Windows XPE, Windows CE, Linux and QNX.

The RoHS-compliant product will be available at the end of December.
