MSC Q7-MB-EP3 embedded platform
MSC Vertriebs has launched the MSC Q7-MB-EP3 embedded platform, enabling fast developments of embedded systems based on the Qseven module series MSC Q7-TCTC-FD.
Like the power-saving Qseven modules MSC Q7-TCTC-FD featuring a 70 x 70mm form factor, which are offered for commercial and extended temperature ranges of -40C to +85C, the baseboard is also available for an extended temperature range.
It is ready-to-use for small and medium production quantities and can save the customer extensive in-house development, according to MSC Vertriebs.
The 148 x 102mm compact embedded platform MSC Q7-MB-EP3 offers a selection of important interfaces defined in the Qseven specification version 1.20.
Five USB 2.0 ports (two external), a serial interface (D-Sub connector), Gbit LAN, two Sata and optional HD audio in addition CAN signals are available via header pins.
For the integration of an industry display, the embedded platform provides a LVDS and a backlight interface.
The board integrates a four/five-wired touch controller for the connection of a touch screen.
The optional VGA output can support a maximum resolution of 1,920 x 1,200pixels and allows a second display to be connected to the system.
In addition to the standard functions offered, the baseboard can be individually configured to suit customer requirements.
A Mini PCI Express card holder is integrated on the board for the implementation of, for example, a wireless LAN controller or flash memory extensions.
Furthermore, the platform can be configured via the integrated MMC/SD card slot.
MSC offers boot support for MMC/SD cards under Linux.
The wide power supply range of 10-28VDC supports seamless integration of the MSC Q7-MB-EP3 platform into various system environments with different power supplies available.
The Qseven module range MSC Q7-TCTC-FD integrating an Intel Atom E6x0 processor offers high graphics performance.
The boards are available in four different computing performance variants.
The most economic model integrates a 600MHz Intel Atom E620 CPU.
Alternative modules are based on the E640 (1.0GHz) processor, the 1.3GHz E660 or the E680 CPU with 1.6GHz.
Memory controller (single channel, 32-bit) and the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator GMA 600 are part of the processor.
The GMA 600 offers a hardware acceleration engine supporting video playback in HD-quality MPEG2 and MPEG4 decoding and encoding of videos.
The Qseven modules MSC Q7-TCTC-FD offer a CAN bus according to the recently released Qseven specification v1.20.
The standard modules are mounted via a proven MXM connection on the baseboard.
