PC/104 card employs DM and P Vortex86DX processor

The module's fanless Vortex86DX CPU engine offers high performance while achieving low power consumption figures of under 4W, making it suitable for embedded applications.

This PC/104 module supports up to SXGA (1,280 x 1,024) graphics resolution through the onboard XGI Volari Z9s chipset, which also provides CRT and TFT/LVDS support.

The board also comes with 256 Mbytes of DDR2 memory for stability.

The VDX-6354 has plentiful onboard I/O support, including four serial ports (one port configurable as RS232/422/485), two USB2.0 ports, a 10/100 Base-T LAN port and 16 lines of general-purpose I/O.

In addition to the onboard 4 Mbytes SPI Flash, an enhanced IDE port supports conventional HDD plus 2.5in and disk-on-module flash drives up to 4 Gbytes.

A broad range of plug-in expansion opportunities are also possible through the PC/104 and optional PC/104+ interfaces.

To simplify interconnection, the design employs colour-coded connectors, and for application development, drivers are supplied for DOS with BSPs for Linux, Windows XP Embedded and Windows CE 6.0.

Requiring only a single-rail 5V DC supply at a modest 740mA, the VDX-6354 is targeted at applications with the conflicting demands of fanless operation and high operational performance.

The RoHS-compliant VDX-6354 incorporates a fully programmable watchdog timer (30.5 to 512s), has a standard operational temperature range of -20 to 70C (optional -40 to 85C), and has guaranteed availability for over eight years.
