MPC Data releases board support package
MPC Data
Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 BSP
MPC Data and Datalight have announced the latest release of the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 board support package (BSP) for the Texas Instruments TMS320DM355 digital video evaluation module.
This BSP targets the DM355 EVM and integrates the high-performance flash management solutions from Datalight.
The latest version of the BSP is engineered to enable an efficient evaluation and development process - a critical benefit for accelerating hardware and software integration.
The updated ARM9-based DM355 CE 6.0 R3 BSP features optional FlashFX Pro support.
FlashFX Pro from Datalight is a multi-threaded flash media manager targeted at applications requiring real-time response from resident flash memory.
It also features optional reliance support, reliance from Datalight high-integrity transactional file system with dynamic transaction point technology, and an integrated WQVGA 3.4in OLED, touch screen and user button driver support for the Barnacle Board add-on module from MPC Data.
This release is the result of close collaboration between MPC Data and Datalight to deliver reliable flash management and high-reliability file system solutions for Windows Embedded CE on Texas Instruments Davinci architecture.
Through this collaboration, MPC Data operates as a Datalight partner providing product sales, support and system integration services around Windows Embedded CE on Texas Instruments Davinci and OMAP based designs.
The Datalight flash file system solution is comprised of the Reliance file system and FlashFX Pro intelligent flash media manager.
Reliance was designed from the ground up for high-reliability applications.
Dynamic transaction point technology provides 100 per cent immunity from file corruption, even after unexpected system interruption.
Embedded applications can benefit from faster boot times that remain consistent for the life of the product, regardless of disk size.
FlashFX Pro features pre-written support for more than 300 flash parts, works with virtually any NAND controller, and features wear levelling, bad block management and background compaction.
The source code for this BSP is available under licence for customers through MPC Data.
A free evaluation binary that includes evaluation versions of the FlashFX Pro and Reliance products from Datalight is available on request from MPC Data.
