LEC-7500 expected to speed development of HD signs
Lanner Electronics
Fanless embedded-computer
Lanner Electronics has released the Lanner LUGE LEC-7500, which is a fanless embedded-computer based on the Intel Atom.
It is a small form factor embedded system with internal storage.
It offers discrete graphics for digital signage and 1080p Full HD video output (1920 x 1080, 50fps) with the popular 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU.
The HDMI video port can be connected to any high-definition screen to produce clear high-definition video and audio.
Applications include high-impact advertising screens in locations such as subway stations, airports and shopping malls.
The LEC-7500 is only 43mm high and weighs 2.7kg (without hard drive).
It supports Windows XP 32-bit, XPe and Linux kernel 2.6.xx and up.
The LEC-7500's feature-set includes tri-video out (VGA, DVI-D and HDMI), four USB 2.0 ports, two serial ports, two Gbit LAN ports and audio in/out jacks.
It also provides a mini-PCIe socket for a wireless module and a PCI Express slot for the graphics-extension module.
High-definition video is supplied by the LEC-7500's discrete graphics card, based on the VIA S3 4300E GPU with 512MB DDR2 graphics memory.
It supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 at 50 frames per second, providing clear HD video.
Operating temperatures with industrial components range from -20 to +50C.
It includes a Compactflash socket and an SATA port for an internal 2.5in HDD.
An onboard 1GB DDR2 memory IC plus a 200-pin SO-DIMM provide up to 2GB total system memory.
