Embedded device targets digital signage OEMs
Datasound Laboratories
Ebox-3300MX
Datasound Laboratories has launched the fan-less 1GHz Ebox-3300MX, an embedded computing device targeted at applications including digital signage, point-of-sale, thin clients and so on.
The company said the device provides OEMs with application opportunities that were previously impossible with traditional fan and heat-sink solutions.
With dimensions of 115 x 115 x 35mm (large enough to support Vesa 100 mounting), the Ebox-3300MX can be securely mounted onto desks, walls or directly on the back of most LCD displays.
Employing the Vortex86MX processor, the Ebox-3300MX is supported by 512MB DDR2 memory, an enhanced IDE, 24-bit GPIO, AC97 audio and up to three serial ports.
Three USB 2.0 ports and 10/100Mbps Ethernet provide a good spread of high-speed data connections while the built-in PXE 2.0 Network Boot function allows the Ebox-3300MX to readily connect to disk-less environments in a range of applications such as banking terminal systems (BTS), on-line financial terminal systems (OFTS), retail, education and more.
The Ebox-3300MX is powered from a +8 to +15VDC supply and weighs 500g.
It is compatible with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
