MSC EXM-IMX35 CPU module
The MSC EXM-IMX35 CPU module from MSC Vertriebs measures 65 x 90mm and offers high computing performance and low power consumption, according to the company.
The module complies with the open EXM32 system-on-module specification defined by MSC.
The MSC EXM-IMX35 CPU module integrates a Freescale i.MX35 processor based on an ARM11 Core with a clock frequency of 533MHz.
On-board standard DDR2 memory with a maximum capacity of 256MB as well as up to 64MB NOR and up to 4GB NAND Flash memory are available.
The integrated graphics LCD controller supports 24-bit colour depth and offers hardware drawing acceleration according to OpenVG 1.0 standard.
The MPEG4 decoding hardware allows the replay of videos, for example, for video presentations in POI applications.
The MSC EXM-IMX35 CPU module offers an improved interface variety compared with previous models.
In addition to two USB 2.0 and two UART ports, two FlexCAN 2.0B interfaces are available.
Via the LAN interface, a fast 10/100 Base-T Ethernet connection can be established.
Optional, real-time Ethernet with IEEE1588 PHY will be supported.
Two IC interfaces, an AC97 audio interface and an 8-bit camera port complete the offering.
The system can be extended via 16 GPIO signals, an SPI interface and the processor bus accessible by the baseboard connectors.
For data storage, two Compact Flash and a SD/MMC interfaces are provided.
Processor modules according to the EXM32 specification are especially designed for harsh environmental conditions and operate in the temperature range from -40C to +85C without any active cooling.
In order to satisfy most of the requirements in industrial applications, the MSC EXM-IMX35 CPU module features a high resistance to shock and vibration and meets the automotive specification DIN EN 60068 (Environmental Conditions for Electrical and Electronic Equipment for Road Vehicles).
The module's robust and shock-resistant elastomeric connector technology means it can easily be mounted on the baseboard.
If required, additional EXM32 modules - for example interface boards - can be stacked on top of each other.
