CM-IAM system on module

Anders Electronics has announced the availability of the latest Intel Atom-based system on module (SoM).

Measuring 65 x 75mm, the CM-IAM features up to 2Gb RAM, a 4Gb onboard Flash disk, a SATA interface, dual GbE and up to three PCIe lanes.

It packs up-to-date technologies into a compact, lightweight PC on module.

With onboard resources that run Linux, Windows XP or Windows 7, the CM-IAM's standard X86 architecture runs most software applications written for PCs.

Its credit-card-sized board provides low power consumption (4-6W), making it suitable for battery and always-on applications.

The basic feature set of the CM-IAM includes a 32-bit X86-compatible Atom Z530 central processing unit (up to 1.6GHz), up to 2Gb RAM, a 4Gb onboard Flash disk, a SATA interface and a Micro-SD slot.

The CM-IAM also offers multiple display interfaces (RGB, LVDS and SDVO) with resolutions of up to 1,920 x 1,200, enabling it to run the high-definition graphics needed for applications such as digital signage.

For embedded applications, the CM-IAM provides a variety of display interfaces, up to three PCIe lanes, dual GbE ports, an RS232 serial port, up to 15 GPIO lines and many other functions.

The user interface is supported by an enhanced graphics controller, six USB 2.0 ports and 5.1 channels audio codec (analogue+S/PDIF or HDA output).

To enable the quick evaluation of the CM-IAM in the full range of usage scenarios, the SoM ships with the SB-IAM evaluation base board.

This evaluation kit features a range of extension and input/output interfaces, including PCI and PCIe slots, RGB, LVDS, DVI and CRT display and digital, analogue and optical audio.
