Aaeon, a premier industrial PC manufacturer, has brought out the AEC-6821, a low power-consumption embedded controller.
The AEC-6821, which adopts the AMD Geode LX 800 processor, is an advanced version of the AEC-6820 and targets the transportation and infrastructure market.
The AEC-6821 features the AMD Geode TM LX 800 500MHz processor and optional system memory DDR RAM SODIMM (up to 512MB).
It deploys two 10/100Base-TX RJ-45 connectors, which provide fast network connections, one PCMCIA and one isolated COM port for flexible expansion options.
This unit also offers four USB 2.0 ports, VGA, audio, keyboard and mouse, and parallel and Compactflash slots, which make the model a versatile transportation engine.
'The AEC-6821 targets the intelligent transportation environment, which requires a wide power-input range.
'It features 9-30V DC input and an optional AC power that can be input through an external power adapter for a wide range of requirements from different market segments,' said Linux Wang, product manager in Aaeon's panel appliance and automation division.
The fanless AEC-6821 embedded controller is an ideal entry-level transportation application unit.
It can reduce time and resources of system integration and will ensure quality and stability for any project.
