sub-compact board

Impulse's IPC manufacturer, Aaeon Technology, has released a 3.5in sub-compact board, the Gene-9155.

This board adopts the Intel 915GME+ICH6M chipset and supports the Socket 479 Intel Pentium M and Celeron M low-power processors, ensuring high computing performance at a competitive price.

The Gene-9155 also supports a 200-pin DDRII 400/533 SODIMM memory of up to 2Gbytes, along with the inclusion of the Intel 82573L 10/100/1000Base-TX Ethernet chipset, for high-speed network communication support.

The MiniPCI socket and the ECX expansion connector allows the inclusion of a wide range of peripheral devices, while four USB 2.0 ports, one EIDE connector, one SATA connector and one Type II CompactFlash socket provide flexibility for storage options.

An RS-232 port, a configurable RS-232/422/485 port and an 8-bit programmable digital I/O present options for interfacing the Gene-9155 with a wide range of industrial devices.

The Gene-9155 also supports simultaneous and dual video for CRT and 18-bit dual-channel LVDS video output.

Software support for Windows XP and XP Embedded is assured, and Impulse can assist with installation of these operating systems, along with standard or custom XPe images available via the company's in-house software support engineers.

Further BSP support is available for Linux and Windows CE.

Applications include infotainment systems, elevator display systems, building/factory automation, medical equipment and any application which requires an HMI or LCD panel interface.
