Silicon Labs introduces subscriber line interface circuit for voice-over-IP gateways
Silicon Laboratories
Si3226x Dual Proslic
Silicon Laboratories has launched a power-efficient integrated subscriber line interface circuit (SLIC) solution for voice-over-IP (VoIP) gateways.
The Si3226x Dual Proslic is designed for low-channel-count VoIP customer premises equipment (CPE) such as fibre- to-the-home (FTTH) gateways, DSL integrated access devices and cable embedded multimedia terminal adaptors (EMTAs), as well as high-channel-count products such as multiple-dwelling-unit gateways and PBX systems.
Key specifications
- Enable lowest BOM cost and small footprint
- Provide two complete channels in a 60-pin 8 x 8mm QFN package
- Integrated level shifter/driver allows direct connection to DC/DC converter’s power transistor
- Minimises total FXS system power consumption
- Requires less than 55mW per channel when on-hook
- Generates only the voltages needed in on-hook, off-hook and ringing states
- Reduces heat dissipation
- Can be configured as either single-output tracking DC/DC converters for each SLIC channel or a single multi-rail DC/DC converter shared by two or more channels
- Tracking shared supply (TSS) capability reduces power consumption of two-channel shared-battery designs
