Sterling standby generators

Scorpion Power Systems has introduced the Sterling series of UK-built standby generators, providing a cost-effective solution for 'standard-package' requirements.

Available for both prime and standby power applications, with engine sizes ranging from 17kVA to 600kVA, the Sterling series of generators come complete with a high-quality acoustic and weather canopy and an auto-start controller with generator monitoring and protection systems that are suitable for remote starting or connection with a Scorpion AMF panel.

In addition, a thermostatically controlled engine heater, a battery tickle charger, an output circuit break and a DEFRA-compliant high-capacity bunded fuel tank complete the high-specification package.

The Sterling series is available on short lead times and includes reliable components from a number of manufacturers, according to the company.

The generators are said to be reliable, durable and service friendly, making them suitable for power generation.

Scorpion claims that they are compact for use in both stationary units and mobile installations.

Larger Sterling series generator sets are equipped with engines that have been designed and developed to handle large step-load situations while providing short recovery times.

A recognised specialist for providing generators for life safety equipment and an ISO 9001:2000-accredited company, Scorpion is an integrated power solutions provider.

Its range of products includes generators, automatic mains failure, comprehensive remote monitoring systems and no-break control panels.

Part of the Shenton Group, Andover-based Scorpion produces high-technology small, mid-range and large generators.

The company undertakes turnkey operations from initial site surveys, building and ductwork through to installation, commissioning and maintenance.

Its client base includes blue-chip companies, telecommunications, utilities and the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
