XP Power DC/DC converters are aimed at military-vehicle and avionics applications
XP Power
XP Power has introduced the MTC35 and MTC50 series of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) 35W and 50W DC/DC converters, which are aimed at a range of military-vehicle and avionics applications.
These robust and encapsulated board-mounted modules accommodate an input range from 10 to 40V DC and can handle transients up to 50V DC for up to 100msec.
Output modules are available with 3.3, 5, 12, 15 or 28V DC outputs and can be adjusted between -20 and 10 per cent via an external trim pin.
The systems comply with MIL-STD 1275A/B/C/D and MIL-STD 704A standards for surges and transients, and MIL-STD 461E/F for conducted emissions and susceptibility.
Key specifications
- Meet environmental MIL-STD 810F specification
- Baseplate cooling
- -40°C to 100°C operating temperature
- Unit start-up is possible from as low as -55°C
- Control and signal pins provide the ability to inhibit output, provide thermal warning and converter shutdown, and synchronise converter frequency to an external source in the 400–500KHz range
- Remote sense compensates for up to a 0.5V DC drop on the output
