C5800HV high-output-voltage power converters
Schaefer has announced the C5800HV series of high-output-voltage power converters.
The C5800HV series can provide output voltages up to 3000V DC, while generating up to 12kW of output power.
The high-output voltage is suitable for applications that require running DC from remote sites to loads at distant locations, through tens or hundreds of miles of cable.
The Series' robust design, using industrial grade components, yields a highly efficient, space-saving solution for extreme environments.
The C5800HV Series is based on Schaefer's C/B5800 series, which offers over 100 models.
Five standard DC input-voltage options span a range from 80V DC-800V DC.
AC input models offer one- or three-phase options as well as battery charging models.
Single output voltages encompass a range from 12-3000V DC, all of which are adjustable and fully regulated to 0.2 per cent or better (load) and 0.1 per cent (line).
DC/DC and AC/DC models have remote sense capability.
Comprehensive protection circuitry is inherent in the design and efficiencies are up to 95 per cent.
Operating temperature is -20 to 75C, with -40 to 75C as an option.
Additional options include parallel/redundant operation, further mechanical ruggedisation, inhibit, Power-OK / DC-OK alarms, system reset signaling and programming/monitoring functions.
The units are packaged in a 6U or 9U rack module or a wall-mount module.
Custom or modified mechanical and electrical designs are welcomed.
