Power conversion rack suits vehicle applications

Powerstax

TVR3001, a 3,000W DC-DC power conversion rack

Powerstax has introduced the TVR3001, a 3,000W DC-DC power conversion rack that has been developed specifically for harsh environmental conditions.

In its configuration, each of the three individual modules within the rack contain two of Powerstax's versatile F501 full-brick DC-DC converters, coupled with a two-phase boost converter to provide a standalone power solution.

The Powerstax TVR3001 is suitable for use in vehicle or remote applications and the system is designed to protect the internal electronics from the ingress of dust.

The three individual modules plug into a 19in, 2U rack that can be used in a 19in cabinet of various heights (typically 1,620mm, 1,798mm and 2,020mm).

High system efficiency ensures a low level of heat dissipation, allowing the unit to be force air cooled, with the cooling air separated from the electronics.

The Powerstax TVR3001 includes up to 3,000W of output power and an input range from 11-36VDC, suitable for MIL-STD-1275.

It features step-up and step-down DC-DC conversion and has standard output voltages 12V (200A), 15V (200A), 24V (126A), 28V (102A), 48V (63A).

With an efficiency of typically 86 per cent, the device also has reduced system heat dissipation, comprehensive protection, remote on/off, an IC temperature sensor and operating temperature range of -25 to 60C.

The Powerstax TVR3001 is CE marked for compliance with the LVD 73/23/EEC, complies with the requirements of EN60950 and is designed to meet certain EMC standards.

Typical applications for the Powerstax TVR3001 include military commercial off-the-shelf (MilCOTS) systems, homeland security, avionics, shipboard and ground systems and mobile/vehicle mounted equipment.
