Nu Horizons offers Emerson DC-DC converters

Designed for space-sensitive applications, the LGA C series offers a surface-mount power solution capable of delivering 15-100W of scalable power via a low-profile land grid array (LGA) package.

These DC-DC converters have a footprint of 16.26mm x 16.26mm, which is identical for all models (3A, 6A, 10A and 20A) so that designers have a convenient power migration path if system requirements change.

Input voltage ratings range from 3V to 13.8V DC (4.5V to 13.8V DC for the 20A model), making the power converters compatible with a variety of input bus voltages.

The power converters also feature a wide adjustable output range from 0.59 to 5.1V DC through external resistor trimming, reducing the number of module types needed to support multiple applications.

The ultra-compact LGA packaging enables a uniform, low-profile (3.2mm typical) form factor, making the converters suitable for power applications where board space, airflow and height dimensions are critical.

They can be mounted on either side of a circuit board for flexible space management and are fully compatible with automated circuit board assembly processes.

The packaging also offers designers an opportunity to employ a variety of conductive cooling techniques (heatsinks, coldplates and so on) via either surface.

The LGA C series offers high efficiency (92 per cent typical at full load) under standard operating conditions and accommodates a wide range (-40 to +85C) of ambient operating temperatures.

The power converters are also equipped with a variety of features including under-voltage lockout, differential remote sense, output margining and short-circuit protection.
