Sensei quarter-brick converter
FDK Corporation has expanded its Sensei series of isolated DC/DC converters with the addition of a high-power regulated quarter-brick converter.
The FPQR48T01225 converter is for intermediate bus architecture (IBA) and distributed power architecture (DPA) in telecommunications, Wimax, data processing, computing and storage applications that require a regulated 12V distribution bus.
The FPQR48T01225 converter operates from a 36V DC to 75V DC input, and provides a tightly regulated 12V DC output.
It delivers up to 25A with efficiency in excess of 92.5 per cent.
It comes in a 57.9mm x 36.8mm x 14.1mm industry-standard quarter-brick footprint and pin-out.
As an option, the FPQR48T01225 converter can support parallel operation of multiple units without the need for external components, with a load sharing accuracy within +/-10 per cent.
Standard features include input under-voltage lockout (UVLO), output over-current protection (OCP), output over-voltage protection (OVP), over-temperature protection (OTP), remote output voltage sense, and output voltage trim using industry-standard trim equations.
The FPQR48T01225 converter meets the basic insulation requirements of EN60950, and features input to output DC isolation of 1,500V DC.
The Sensei Series converters deliver full-rated output power and current with little derating at high ambient temperatures, without the need for heat sinks.
With a 48V DC input and 500LFM (2.5m/s) airflow, the FPQR48T01225 converter delivers 300W (25A) at ambient temperatures up to 60C and 250W (21A) at temperatures up to 80C.
All Sensei Series products are RoHS-compliant.
Samples of the FPQR48T01225 converter are available now.
