Ericsson offers DC/DC converter designed for use in networking and data-storage equipment

Ericsson Power Modules

BMR453-0108/014 DC/DC converter

Ericsson has introduced a high-density DC/DC converter that is suitable for data communications applications, including networking and data-storage equipment.

According to the company, the BMR453-0108/014 is designed to handle high power and to deliver tightly controlled output voltages.

The small-footprint converter can be used to power networks and to manage data-centre traffic; it is also designed for use in production and test systems such as those found in the semiconductor industry.

Key specifications

  • Available in an industry-standard quarter-brick footprint, the converter provides an output voltage of 12.45V with an output current of 60A, delivering a total output power of 711W.
  • The BMR453-0108/014 combines two Ericsson BMR453 series power modules, assembled in parallel, and offers a power density as high as 33.38W/cm2 (215W/in2) while it embeds digital core controllers.
  • Thanks to its built-in energy optimisation capabilities, the converter delivers 96.9 per cent efficiency at half load and up to 95.8 per cent at full load.
  • The BMR453-0108/014 offers a 44–75V input voltage range and is compatible with 48V, 52V and 60V systems.
