Emco DC-DC converters reduce power consumption

Emco High Voltage

ULP DC-DC converters

Emco has launched its Ultra Low Power (ULP) Series DC-DC converters, said to reduce power consumption over existing solutions.

Designed for the demands of portable, battery-powered applications, the ULP Series provides output voltages from 0 to 500 to 5,000V DC, while consuming less than 2mW of power.

This translates to 4,500 hours of operation on two AA lithium batteries.

The output voltage is regulated, programmable and can deliver up to 4W of power on demand at more than 85 per cent efficiency.

Proprietary packaging produces a miniature module of 1/2in (12.7mm) high and weighing less than 2oz (56.7g).

Designed with green applications in mind, the ULP Series also features a shutdown pin that drops current consumption below 10uA.

Standard input-voltage range is 5.4 to 7.4V and models are available in positive and negative outputs.

Operating temperature range is available in -20 to 70C and -55 to 85C versions.
