The Power-One HBCSDC/DC convertor available now from Amplicon, is a half-brickdevice that accepts an input of 36-75V DC and provides 12V DC at25A with very tight regulation, and isolation of 1500V DC with abasic insulation rating.
It is designed to be used as theintermediate bus voltage supply.
The design engineer additionallybenefits from an onboard four-channel sequencing switch that canbe programmed to provide control of subsequent switchingregulators.
These switches are inhibited until the 12V DC outputreaches 88% of its nominal value.
These added features ensurethat a perfect supply is provided for the regulators, that can beturned on and off, in any desired sequence.
Point of loadconversion is provided by the Power-One YNS12S16, also part ofAmplicon's new range.
From Power-One's innovative Nexfamily this surface mount nonisolated convertor provides up to16A to the load.
The output voltage is user programmable between0.75 and 5.0V DC via external resistors.
This enables selectionof the correct voltage to the load, with an easy upgrade path.
Itprovides exceptional thermal performance in high temperature, lowairflow conditions, permitted by the use of a low-profile formatthat requires no added heatsink.
Startup into a pre-biased outputwith no minimum load requirements makes the convertor an idealchoice.
The new range perfectly complements the supplies alreadyavailable from Amplicon, with the new technology enablingcustomers to design a complete power system solution.
