Compact 10W DC/DC converter meets medical specification for patient connected equipment

XP Power

JHM10 series

XP Power has introduced the JHM10 series of board-mounted, isolated 10W DC/DC converters, which are suitable for use in patient-connected medical applications where voltage isolation must be high, isolation capacitance low and leakage current also low.

The JHM10 series meets the ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1:2005 / IEC60601-1 third edition medical safety standard and has a maximum leakage current of 2uA, enabling it to meet the stringent international regulatory requirements for patient-connected medical equipment.

Featuring a reinforced input to output insulation at a working voltage of 250VAC, these converters provide an isolation of up to 4,000VAC for up to one minute; up to 5,000VAC for up to 10 milliseconds (defibrillator proof); isolation capacitance of 20pF; and also have two means of patient protection (MOPP), as required by the third edition.

Measuring 31.75 x 20.32 x 16.5mm (1.25 x 0.8 x 0.65in), these miniature converters fit a standard DIP 24-pin out footprint, keeping board space to a minimum and making them suitable as a drop-in replacement part for use in older designs.
