Mitsubishi Electric offers compact inverter with enhanced safety functions
Mitsubishi Electric Automation Systems
FR-E700SC-EC inverter
Mitsubishi Electric has introduced the FR-E700SC-EC, a compact inverter that helps to protect personnel and machinery by preventing automatic restart after a stop.
The FR-E700SC-EC also features safe torque off (STO) functionality, which provides protection against unexpected motor start-up according to ISO 13849-1 Category 3/PLd and EN62061/IEC61508 SIL2.
As well as preventing the inverter from automatically restarting, it also disables the drive signal to the motor without turning off the power to the inverter, ensuring that no hazardous motion is possible yet still enabling faster restarts to production after a stoppage.
According to Mitsubishi, the inverter also reduces panel costs and space requirements by removing the need for isolating contactors.
