TDK-Lambda adds devices to IHG Series converters

TDK-Lambda

IHG Series devices

TDK-Lambda has added devices offering a wide input range (36V to 75V) to its IHG Series of half-brick DC-DC converters.

The novel devices have nominal outputs from 2.5V/80A (200W), 3.3V/30A (99W), 3.3V/70A (231W), 5V/10A (50W) and 5V/60A (300W).

Using the industry-standard DOSA half-brick footprint, the IHG Series is suitable for engineers designing low-airflow, high-temperature, 48V power architectures for telecom, wireless or industrial applications.

The open-frame, single-board construction, with up to 92.5 per cent efficiency, provides a very high level of useable power in convection-cooled environments with very low levels of airflow.

The control circuitry brings a reduction in component count, which is claimed to improve reliability and lower component and placement costs, as well as cutting its overall weight.

This makes the IHG family suitable as replacements or upgrades in legacy applications, as well as new designs.

The fully regulated output voltage is trimmable over the range of -50 per cent to +100 per cent and provides monotonic start-up, even in pre-biased and high-capacitance loads.

Further standard features include fixed-frequency operation, 1,500VDC input to output isolation, remote sense and remote on/off, latching over voltage and non-latching input under voltage, overload and over-temperature protection circuitry.

Options include a baseplate and latching protection circuitry.

TDK-Lambda's IHG Series is approved to a range of national and international safety standards, including UL60950 (US and Canada), VDE0805 and CB scheme (IEC950).

This series also carries the CE mark according to the LV directive and comes with a three-year warranty.
