TSR-1 switching regulators
Powersolve has unveiled a series of 1A switching regulators, which are designed to be drop-in replacements for inefficient 78XX-series linear regulators.
Manufactured by Tracopower, the TSR-1 Series consists of nine models offering 4.75V DC to 32V DC input ranges and output voltages of 1.5V DC to 15V DC at 1A output current.
Efficiency levels up to 96 per cent allow full load operation up to +60C ambient temperature without the need for a heat sink or forced cooling.
TSR-1 switching regulators are claimed to provide other significant features over linear regulators, such as better output accuracy and lower standby current.
There is no requirement for external capacitors.
The wide input voltage range allows direct operation from a 24V DC bus voltage, while high efficiency and low standby power consumption make these regulators suitable for battery-powered applications.
