The new PDM power distribution module from Rittal offers enhanced options for the installation of multiple-rack power supply solutions.
The new PDM power distribution module from Rittal offers enhancedoptions for the installation of multiple-rack power supplysolutions.
With a height of just 3U, the PDM is connected to athree-phase mains supply by way of a central IEC plug connectorand is a base module for power supplies to server enclosures.
Acentral main switch provides for simple disconnection of themodule and all connected loads from the mains.
Four outputsprovide connection of four Rittal busbars with the correspondingthree-phase power system module.
The connections are able tosupply up to 10kW each to a maximum of three neighbouring serverracks, eliminating the necessity of a separate power supply toeach individual rack.
The busbars are linked to the PDM withoutloss of space by way of a special plug connector, which isadditionally secured against disconnection with a strain reliefclip.
The three phases are all fused individually at all fouroutputs with automatic circuit breakers.
This configurationenhances security and reliability as the tripping of a fuse, dueto a system fault, can never lead to a complete shutdown of allconnected systems as only those systems using the affected phaseare disconnected.
At the same time, the modular system designpermits the selective connection and disconnection of individualcomponents.
