Microchip digital potentiometers
A selection of digital potentiometers manufactured by Microchip are available from TME.
Resistance can be set in 64-256 steps, while typical resistances are: 2.1, 5, 10 and 100k.
Potentiometers are manufactured with one and two channels.
These elements can be controlled by a microcontroller through up/down (setting values by feeding a corresponding amount of impulses), I2C or SPI interfaces.
Declared integral nonlinearities (INL) fall in the range from 0.5 to 1.5LSB, while differential nonlinearities (DNL) are not worse than 0.25-1LSB.
Potentiometers are powered by voltage from 1.8 to 5.5V.
There are versions available with non-volatile memory type EEPROM, in which set values are saved after the disconnection of power supply; as well as versions without such memory, in which after the disconnection of power supply the slider is always set to a central position.
Microchip potentiometers are manufactured in a range of housings - DFN, MSOP, PDIP, QFN, SOIC, SOT23, TSSOP and SC70.
They can operate at temperatures from -40 to 125C.
