IRC thick-film chip resistors offer high stability

Thick-film chip resistors
IRC has developed a series of high-temperature thick-film chip resistors, providing design engineers with high-stability, high-temperature devices for demanding environments.
Designated the HTC Series, the chip resistors feature an operating temperature to +200C and are available in standard chip sizes, including 1,206, 2,010 and 2,512 packages.
Gary Bleasdell, director of IRC's thick-film business unit, said: 'These resistors exhibit excellent stability at extremely high temperatures, as well as superior power-handling capabilities and an extended resistance range and working voltage ratings.
'These electrical characteristics make the HTC Series resistors ideal for a variety of harsh environments, including automotive underhood, aerospace, down-hole instrumentation, oil-and-gas equipment, motor controls, power supply and circuit-protection applications,' he added.
The thick-film chip resistors feature lead-free wrap-around terminations with a leach-resistant nickel barrier.
The resistors meet MIL-STD-202 specifications for load life, moisture resistance and thermal shock.
The HTC Series resistors feature a resistance range from 1.0ohms to 10Mohms.
Maximum voltage ratings for the 1,206, 2,010 and 2,512 chip sizes are 200V, 400V and 500V respectively.
Tolerances are to +/-0.5 per cent, +/-1 per cent and +/-5 per cent, with absolute TCRs of +/-100ppm/C.
The operating temperature ranges from -55C to +200C.
According to IRC, it will also produce devices outside these specifications to meet customer requirements.
The lead time for HTC Series chip resistors is from seven to eight weeks.
