Sub-miniature crystals support stable RF clocking

Acal Technology

Surface-mount crystals

Acal Technology has announced the availability of sub-miniature surface-mount crystals, which support the growing demand for stable and accurate RF clocking in space-constrained applications.

The ACT2016SMX-4 and ACT2205SMX-4 crystals from Advanced Crystal Technology (ACT) and Acal Technology are said to provide enhanced long-term stability in ultra-compact packages.

The ultra-compact four-pad seam-sealed, ceramic packages provide stability down to +/-10ppm with low ageing of +/-1ppm at 25C in the first year.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) can also be improved by grounding the metal lids through the two spare pads.

Supporting frequencies from 24MHz to 60MHz, the ACT2016SMX-4 is offered in a 2mm x 1.6mm x 0.45mm package.

The ACT2205SMX-4 has a 2mm x 2.5mm x 0.55mm package and supports frequencies from 16MHz to 48MHz.

In addition to sub-miniature crystals, Acal Technology also provides local specialist support.

ACT's full range of SAW filters, oscillators, crystals and ceramic resonators as well as ceramic filters, discriminators and traps.

A range of in-house design and assembly facilities at the Acal Technology Design and Manufacturing Services Centre at Wokingham, UK, supports customers and helps reduce overall time to market.
