MEMS-based voltage-controlled oscillators
MSC Vertriebs has announced the availability of Sitime's SIT3808 and SIT3809 MEMS-based voltage-controlled oscillators (VCMOs) for telecom, networking and embedded applications.
The VCMOs offer jitter of less than 1ps, a pull range of up to +/-1,600ppm and a linearity of less than one per cent.
Both the SIT3808, which is specified for the frequency range from 1MHz to 80MHz, as well as the SIT3809 (frequency range 80MHz to 220MHz) offer high-frequency stability of up to +/-1ppm and six decimal places of frequency accuracy.
The pull range linearity contributes to minimising variations of the application PLL.
In addition, possible EMI distortions may be reduced easily by using the programmable drive level of the devices.
Fully compatible with quartz-based VCXO solutions, the VCMOs are available for the commercial temperature range from -20C to +70C as well as for the extended industrial temperature range from -40C to +85C.
The products in the SIT380X range are available in 3225 packages with four pins as well as in six-pin 7050 packages.
The devices operate from a 1.8V or 2.5-3.3V power supply.
Due to the individual programmability of parameters such as frequency, stability, operating voltage, pull range and drive level, first customer-specific samples will mostly be available within 48-72 hours.
The lead time for production quantities is about three weeks.
