Fox oscillators meet needs of fibre-channel apps
Fox Electronics
Application Specific Xpresso oscillators
Fox Electronics is offering a line of Application Specific Xpresso oscillators that are optimised for fibre-channel configurations.
As with all models in the 3.3V Xpresso line, the fibre-channel oscillators are off the shelf and pre-configured to precise application-specific requirements in an industry-standard 7 x 5mm package.
To ensure the best performance possible, the Application Specific Xpresso line is the first to combine Fox's patented Xpresso technology with the characteristics required to meet the needs of specific fibre-channel applications without the wait associated with custom products.
Xpresso technology offers fast delivery of low jitter, small package size and multiple frequency and output options at a low cost.
Designed and developed by Fox, Xpresso oscillators utilise a range of proprietary application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) with a key focus on noise reduction.
Fox's fibre-channel-specific XO oscillators offer a frequency stability of +/-50ppm with tighter stabilities available upon request and are available in 106.25, 159.375 and 212.50MHz models.
HCMOS and LVPECL outputs are available on the 106.25MHz model, LVPECL for the 159.375MHz model, while LVPECL and LVDS outputs are available on the 212.50MHz models.
The Xpresso oscillators offer a tri-state enable/disable feature, allowing the user to turn the output on and off.
Output enable/disable time is less than 100nS.
Each Xpresso crystal oscillator model features an operating temperature range of -40 to 85C and a storage temperature range of -55 to 125C.
At 12kHz to 20MHz, typical phase jitter is 0.75pS RMS for the 106.25MHz and 159.375MHz, and 0.86pS RMS for 212.50MHz.
Start-up time is 10 mS.
The Xpresso oscillators feature gold-over-nickel termination finish.
