Custom-wound toroid inductors prevention malfunction of electronic equipment

Total Frequency Control

Toroid inductors

TFC is offering a range of standard and custom-wound toroid inductors for applications such as radio-frequency interference (RFI) from power-supply lines and for the prevention of electronic-equipment malfunction.

According to TFC, toroid coils provide maximum coupling and minimum losses, and can be wound with single or bifilar wires, while SMD and PCB mounts are available to facilitate assembly and improve mechanical stability.

Some uses for this are current transformers, antenna balums and line filters.

Specific services for the Common Mode Choke include: custom winding; sourcing of core and wire; inductance test; leakage inductance test; DCR test; turn ratio, polarity test and hi-pot test.

Key specifications

  • A range of ferrite materials may be used with toroid stacks and multiple windings for custom-wound toroids
  • Output depends on the current load and inductance required
  • Inductance will cause the impedance to smooth the EMI
  • Pass differential currents (equal but opposite) while blocking common-mode currents
