Premo develops DC filters for PV applications
Premo
EMC filter series
Premo, an inductive components manufacturer, has developed an EMC filter series with application on the DC side of PV inverters.
The EMC filters are optimised for the requirements of photovoltaic (PV) systems.
They are also said to improve solar panel reliability.
Installed between the solar panel and the DC/AC inverter, the Premo DC filter series helps to reduce the conducted emissions towards the solar panel, as well as keeping leakage currents away, which produces a premature panel ageing and reduces its performance.
PV installations are the main application for the DC filters, but they are also suitable for use when the fuel cell is the energy source.
The series is available with ratings from 55A to 1,500A and rated voltages up to 1,200VDC.
Custom designs are available upon request.
The DC filters have been designed and built according to the UL1283 and EN60939 normative.
